Alexandra stood in the middle of the gym her eyes surveying the room. Alexandra had stood in that same spot hundreds of times before, whether cheering at halftime or running to congratulate the team but at both those moments there were people surrounding her, today it was empty. Alex switched on the CD player and a flo rida low came through the speakers. Alexandra began to dance around the room, her dance managing to incorporate a touch of classic into the otherwise hip hop dance. She began to add in a few flips and spins, cartwheels and tumbles. Alexandra Harper was a cheerleader but not just a cheerleader, she had been dancing since she was 5 and she had been working hard for all those years. Alex's dance bore resemblance to a mixture of all those in Step Up and Step Up 2.

The song came to an end and Alex walked over to the CD player to turn it off. She pressed pause and then noticed a girl sat in the bleachers. "hi" she said surprised that someone had been watching. Alex didn't really like people watching her dance, she never really thought that she deserved to be watched. Of course when she cheered it was different, not everyone was watching her, they were watching the squad. Alex looked up at the girl knowing she was in her grade but not knowing her name, "hey, I'm Alexandra but please call me Alex or Lexi" she said stressing the please. Alexandra hated her full name but she always felt obliged to introduce herself as it. As she spoke she had been approaching the girl so now she stood just a few steps away from the bleachers.

Alex smiled as the girl introduced herself and said that she hated her full name too. "seems many people do" she said before walking towards the bleachers and sitting down. "so did you come here to dance or what?" Alex asked the girl with a smile. Alex knew that a lot of girls came here to practice dancing and a few boys came to practise basketball but usually it was empty. Alex smiled as she looked at the girl, normally Alex was known as Austin Adams' ex, or that cheerleader or maybe even that girl that plays varsity soccer but to Summer Alex was just Alex the girl from the gym and it felt nice not to be known by her ex boyfriend or her school commitments.

Alex smiled at Summer as she said she had come to dance. "well, its your turn then" Alex said bending down and getting her gatorade bottle and taking a few sips before looking back at Summer again. "well, if you are comparing it to that dance then probably not" Alex said thinking back to the dance she had just performed. "we won't count the flips and stuff" she stated deciding that they didn't really qualify as dance more of gymnastics although Alex learnt them from being a cheerleader, you couldn't get in until you could at least do a forward handspring. Alex sat back waiting for Summer to dance and then remembered the remote for the CD player in her hand, "oh, you might want this" she said handing it to her so she could play the song she wanted.

Alex watched with a smile as Summer began to dance, the music was incredibly different from what Alex usually danced to but Summer made it work. Alex watched her every move slightly surprised at how well the girl could dance. When Summer finished and looked up at Alex she smiled at her. "very" she said after Summer had asked if it was good, they way to two of them danced was incredibly different, "i could imagine that with more people" she said after thinking about it for a minute, most of the dances Alex performed where made for many people. After a minute or so the song changed to low by flo rida and Alex was itching to dance, "mind if I dance again?" she asked Summer with a smille knowing exactly the dance she would do to that song.
